The Prairie Enthusiasts (Empire-Sauk Chapter) Black Earth Rettenmund Prairie Invasives Removal Work Day

We’ll make some final passes in all three units to remove the few remaining sweet clover plants. (There won’t be many.) Come and help! As a bonus, the flowers should be good, too. The flowering spurge is spectacular this year, and there are lots of yellow coneflowers and others blooming, too. If we run out of sweet clover (hope, hope), we can work on the ever-present brush and vines that threaten this wonderful remnant prairie. Come help the prairie, please.
What to Bring/Wear: Hat, gloves, long pants, and sturdy shoes or boots, as well as bug juice, as needed. Also bring sharp eyes, the better to enjoy the flowers with. Tools and herbicide provided as needed. And snacks!

Directions: From the intersection of US Hwy 14 and County F in Black Earth, follow F west out of town, then south when it separates from KP. Take your first right on Fesenfeld Road and go about 0.1 mile to the Prairie entrance. Park along the north side of the road.
