The Ice Age Complex at Cross Plains is a compilation of federal, state and county land. Currently there is about 750 acres of public land available for recreation. The entire proposed project boundary encompasses about 1,500 acres. The facility is undeveloped for visitor use and minimally maintained. (Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources)

Local Knowledge:
The original Wilkie farm house, which features walls of native stone blocks 18" thick and 10'x10' hand hewn-oak beams in the basement, was probably constructed in the 1860s.
