Salmo Pond County Park
Description:
Salmo Pond is a 7.5-acre park that offers shoreline fishing, three accessible fishing piers, two accessible shore fishing stations, and picnic areas. It contains a three-acre lake (formerly a rock quarry) with a maximum depth of 15 ft and also provides public access to Black Earth Creek. Fish species primarily include panfish and trout. The park entrance is located on Scherbel Road, 1.5 miles west of the Village of Cross Plains and south of USH 14. Nearby Festge County Park is north of USH 14, and offers hiking, shelters, picnic areas, play equipment, special facilities for the disabled, and a scenic overlook. (Dane County Parks Department)

Salmo Pond does not offer any watercraft access.

Salmo Pond is fed by the same underground water sources that supply adjacent Black Earth Creek and help keep water temperatures in both fisheries cool during warm weather.
