Zander Community Nature Park Village of Cross Plains
This 9.5 acre park is located between Bourbon Road and Lagoon Street and runs adjacent to the newly remeandered Black Earth Creek. There is a newly constructed blacktop path with two handicap accessible fishing stations and two new wooden bridges.
Daily Dawn to Dusk
Dogs must be on leash.
The park is built on the site of the former village millpond. A 2014 construction project recreated the natural meanders of Black Earth Creek.
Boardwalk in Village of Cross Plains Zander park now opened and finished both sides of Wisconsin/Southern RR. Wife and I hiked entire complex last Saturday, Dec. 16, 2018. Parallels Black Earth Creek. Elevated above much wetland not accessible previously. Bridge at Old Fire Station allows access over RR tracks to New Fire House on Bourbon Road. Open to foot and bicycle traffic. No vehicular traffic. Well made, sturdy, and fresh lumber scent still lingers.
